In response to Griffin Corse's Maple Syrup
After reading Griffin's blog about maple syrup it made me think back when I used to go out sugaring with my friends Dad who had a sugaring house and how much fun it was doing it. He did it mostly for fun and sold some of it to people but was never reliable on it for income. When I saw Griffin's blog I remembered that to many people it is very important and they put a lot of time and effort into so they can make the most out if it and not lose money. As Griffin states it is hard to market maple syrup when there are so many brands and other people doing the same thing. I think the best way to market or differentiate it would be locally even though they sell the barrels to a big company I think distributing locally would draw in a good amount of consumers knowing they are helping a local citizen and helping them live the way that they help the community by sugaring or farming.
Rediculous Gas Prices
In the last two weeks gas prices in America have risen on average of 34 cents due to the oil crisis in Libya. This sudden outbreak in high gas prices is taken a toll on everyone in the United States as many people are having trouble putting gas in their tanks now. Just two weeks ago gas was around or under $3 a gallon now we are looking at $3.40 a gallon which is the highest it has been in 3 or 4 years. If the price of oil keeps increasing our economy which seemed to be on the verge of becoming stronger and out of a recession will just fall right back into one if gas prices reach $4 a gallon, I know I will be having trouble filling the tank every week. Does the sudden increase in gas prices affect you?
